About us

Nid-O is based on collaborations. It’s a net and a nest (« un nido » in Spanish, the most natural cradle at the end!).

We believe in Innovation for the benefit of the environment.

All the materials we choose to work with and promote are coming either from industrial or organic waste. They have been created for a real lasting lifecycle but are biodegradable and/or recyclable. They have no toxic chemicals added, no environmental impact - even if degrading slowly they would finish as nutrients for a natural ecosystem.

We also think local and human; our micro-collections are fairly crafted in Barcelona workshops or small factories according to material needs.

I am Olivia Gauss, founder of Nid-O. I’m a French girl living in Barcelona. As a professional, I spent 20 years of my life in brand strategies in different countries, from advertising agencies to client’s communication direction. I am not an engineer myself or an artist, I am not technical, but I am deeply convinced that my experience and commitment can contribute to a change. As a mindful individual, I dreamt of Nid-O while searching for alternative ways to live, buy and indulge myself sustainably. In the 80’s my « pioneer-father » was doing so somehow while grabbing pieces of steel in the street to make a banister; Nid-O is my own particular solution, within technological innovation, watching one step further. I just could not follow like this, wishing to act, knowing how vital it is and finally only practicing waste sorting. Last but not least, as a social being, I love movies and theatre plays, words, street art, wine… and smart design obviously!
